Why Psychological Testing and Evaluations?
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and a variety of other mental health disorders, may be lifelong and serious conditions, and require medications in addition to other forms of treatment.  A careful and thorough evaluation, that includes more detailed assessment strategies then a simple checklist or brief office visit, can rule out other disorders and assess for the possibility of co-existing disorders. In this manner individuals can obtain the treatment that is best suited for their condition.

Intellectual, Specific Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or other mental health disorders can make the every day tasks of educational settings more difficult. Obtaining a psychological or psychodiagnostic assessment that include current diagnosis, as well as treatment and educational recommendations, can assist individuals in obtaining accommodations from the Office of Disabilities in their respective schools.

The specific assessment strategies utilized will depend on the presenting concern, but will at a minimum include a detailed clinical interview and feedback session. Additional measures utilized include Intelligence Testing, Achievement Testing, Personality Testing, Teachers/Parent/Self Rating Forms, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Assessments.
Why do you recommend more than a simple checklist for a diagnosis?
Many mental health diagnosis have overlapping symptoms and diagnosing is much more complex then a simple checklist of symptoms. Some disorders are treated with medications that can have negative side effects, which can be intensified if the individual is inaccurately diagnosed.  For example, individuals with learning problems or a history of trauma, may present with significant symptoms of inattention or hyperactivity that mimic the symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or even Bipolar Disorder. If these individuals are medicated for the wrong disorders however, they can experience other significant side effects, which may worsen symptoms, all while the accurate treatment is delayed.
Process & Pricing
The type of testing required, time to complete the testing, and pricing of the evaluation is highly dependent on the needs of each individual.  Each assessment will include an initial interview, which may be completed right before the evaluation, or at an earlier time. Testing may be conducted over one or several sessions, and some forms may be sent home for parents or teachers to complete.  Initial pricing can be discussed over the phone and finalized during the initial diagnostic interview.

Pricing ranges from $500 to $1500, or more, depending on the type and quantity of testing required. If an initial interview is scheduled at a standard initial fee, then this fee will be applied towards the final assessment price.

I believe in providing access to testing services to allow individuals to obtain the assistance they need, whether that is at school, work or in treatment.  Therefore, I am pleased to announce that I am now offering a 6 month 0% Interest Finance Plan.
