Anxiety, Trauma and EMDR
Anxiety, Trauma and Abuse are three areas of treatment that I am passionate about. I began my training by working with rape and sexual assault survivors. Since that time have worked extensively, both in individual and group therapy, with individuals struggeling with anxiety and/or trauma related responses.  I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) a treatment that has been found to be highly effective in treating trauma, anxiety and other mental health conditions.  EMDR, while using a unique protocol (bilateral brain stimulation), works much like other therapies to shift problematic thinking into a more adaptive way of thinking and living.
Adolescents and Young Adults
I have a passion for working with young adults and helping them navigate the complexities and stressors often present in this time period. College, meeting new friends, first jobs, and moving away from family can be an exciting and fun time. Sometimes adolescents and young adults can struggle to integrate and navigate multiples stressors and demands.  My passion for working with this population started when I completed an advanced training opportunity working in a small rural liberal arts college in Minnesota.  I enjoy helping individuals navigate their options and develop a greater sense of their own values, beliefs and goals.
I have extensive experience working with business professionals, medical professionals, teachers, military personnel, first responders and a variety of other professionals. I have found my approach to be highly effective, in helping these individuals in dealing with the unique stressors of their work environments. Prior to becoming a Licensed Psychologist, I completed my MBA and worked in various corporate environments. This has allotted me a unique perspective as a therapist, in understanding the pressure and stress that my professional clients face in navigating their business and personal lives.
